Popovers From Betty Crocker cookbook, around 1970 or so. Makes 6 in my popover pan Beat together just until smooth: 1 C sifted Flour (sift flour, then measure) 1/2 tsp Salt 1 C Milk 2 Eggs Pour into well greased deep muffin cups, 3/4 full. Bake at 425 until golden brown, 35-45 minutes Serve immediately. I add bacon fat to each cup, then heat in the oven while I mix the batter. Then use a pastry brush to coat each cup thoroughly with the hot fat. I tried dropping a small chunk of cheese on top of each batter cup, before putting in oven: the cheese seemed to stay near the top and melt then dribble cheese over the oven -- line the shelf with a pan or such. $Id: popovers,v 1.2 2005/03/27 17:30:37 chris Exp $
